Autolink works with PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection, which means that they are preparing new vehicles for the Scandinavian market. With help from Alien Interactives they got a new customized management system that streamlines and supports the work process.
BizPart Custom is custom solutions using the BizPart platform with specific features developed for the customer.
BizPart Web publishing is a tool to manage and publish information on websites. By updating everything by your selves easily within the organization, you can use the site better and more cost-effective communications. ustomers and other visitors are met with a living website which can provide more frequent visits.
Autolink serves the cars before they are distributed to the respective distributor in Scandinavia. That means checking the cars and fixing any problems. Largest customer is Peugeot and every year they deliver about 30 000 cars to dealers. Autolink were using an IT system which was cumbersome, maintenance-intensive and had poor reliability. Just to keep the system reasonably operational required two full-time positions. Autolink needed initially help to ensure and document the existing system and then a new system that was more resource efficient and better suited to the business.
The customized system that Alien Interactive developed for Autolink consists of an intranet and a web application that all cars are registered in. Cars that are beeing transported to Autolink Malmo is sent to the system via files from Peugeot's general agent in Stockholm. The files provided include car model and the measures to be taken at the individual car. When they arrive wagon cards and barcode labels are printed and put on the cars. Once a measure is done a bar code is scanned and thus makes it possible to track each car through the entire process. Thus, it is easy to obtain lists of what needs to be addressed for the day. Delivery reservations are made automatically by sending information to the carrier on which cars are ready and where they are to be delivered.T he system also handles the staff working hours. The working flow is developed specifically for Autolink and companies with similar activities, but can be adapted for other companies where for example there is a more or less widespread use of bar codes and where you want an even more automated working flow.
The customized system has gained Autolink full control over the working flow of information and full support in their work processes. – The system that Alien provided us with is making work a great deal easier, now we know exactly where each car is and what condition it is in, said accounting manager Anette Hansson. – All lead times are recorded and it is very easy to go back and get the details on each car, for example, which mounts were made, when they were made and by whom, says Fredrik Göransson, operations manager for Autolink. They both experience great differences from previous systems they used. – One of the biggest advantages is that it is so easy to use, continues Anette Hansson. Subsequently Alien Interactive has also taken over responsibility for all aspects of Autolinks IT operations, from intranets and software to computers and barcode scanners. Alien Interactive are also working proactively and helps with streamlining and improving the software, IT architecture and planning. Smart and quick on-site assistance can be provided by remote control of computers via encrypted channels. This means that Autolink now only needs to turn to one partner to seek advice and assistance on all matters related to IT and can focus all their resources on their core business. This is also a cost effective solution because Autolink only use the service when needed. Autolinks Operations manager Fredrik Göransson believe that one of the reasons that Alien succeeds so well with the system is that they are careful to acquaint themselves with the activities in which the system will be incorporated. – They understand our business and know the processes.
